Self-directed study plan

Learning management that ended with assigning homework —
see the results for yourself

Plan today's tasks, automatically check whether they were done, and show the results to parents as they are — all with the ClassCanvas study plan system.

Do these concerns sound familiar?

  • There's no way to check whether homework was assigned or whether students actually did it
  • It's hard to tell students who do well from students who don't do the work
  • When parents ask, all you can say is “I'll check and get back to you”
  • You miss the moment to praise students and notice neglected students too late

See whether tasks were done on a single screen

When a teacher selects a student, the completion rate, grade and trends by period appear on one screen. You can also save it as a PDF to use as consultation material.

How it's used

Different subjects, different grades, one approach

Teachers set today's tasks for students, and students decide the order themselves and get them done. Attendance, assignment and video viewing records are checked automatically, and students mark only the items that need a manual check. Every morning before dawn, the day's completion rate is compiled into an emoji grade, and the streak builds up. Teachers approve rewards for students who did well and leave a one-line comment. Then they show the results to parents with a single link.

Frequently asked questions

Self-directed study plan FAQ

What if a student changes the plan however they like?

Teachers set the period and the total target amount, and students decide the order and time slots within it. Students get freedom within the framework the teacher sets, so the plan itself doesn't fall apart.

Doesn't the teacher still have to check everything one by one?

No. Items with attendance, assignment submission or video viewing records are marked complete automatically by the system. Teachers or students only need to check the other items manually.

Automatically confirmed items are marked ‘Can't be checked manually’ and come with the actual record (attendance, 100% viewed). Tap to enlarge.
Results will differ for every student. Do you compare and rank them?

No. Rather than comparing with other students, it focuses on “whether they improved over last week.” We didn't build competitive elements such as leaderboards.

How do parents see the results?

When the teacher issues a link, parents just open it. They can check right away on mobile without installing an app or logging in, and the link is valid for 7 days.

Are results reflected in real time?

Completion rates and grades are calculated every morning before dawn. Plans made or activities done today are reflected from the next morning.
