ClassCanvas sets up your online academy in one of two ways. The live classes, content and learning management you use after logging in are exactly the same; the differences are the pages first-time visitors see and the setup fee.
After login, both services provide the same live classes, content (video lessons, assignments, tests) and learning management (attendance, announcements). The only differences are ‘the pages first-time students and parents see’ and ‘the domain type.’
Subdomain vs custom domain
Post-login services are the same. Landing pages, domain type and setup fee differ.

Why is there a setup fee for a custom domain?
The custom domain service requires separate setup work: ClassCanvas designs 3–4 landing pages to match your academy's own brand, and after login, the live class, content and learning management services are securely connected to your academy's domain using token issuance. Unlike a subdomain, which automatically generates a single page from a standard template, each academy needs its own one-time design work and domain connection setup, which is why there is a setup fee. In addition, a custom domain site connects a PG (payment gateway) payment module dedicated to your academy so the academy can collect tuition and other payments directly. This payment module integration is also included in the setup fee. (However, Custom domain – Basic does not include payment module integration.)
Notes on PG payment module integration
Guarantee insurance premiums and the PG company's own initial review and registration fees incurred during payment module integration are not included in ClassCanvas's setup fee (3,000,000 KRW) and are charged separately according to the policy of the PG company your academy contracts with. Exact amounts vary by PG company (e.g. Toss Payments), so be sure to check with the PG company before signing a contract.
Planning to set up a remote academy?
Setting up a remote academy in Korea requires approval from the local Office of Education, and submitting a ‘domain registration certificate’ for a domain the academy owns independently is mandatory. A subdomain ({code}.classcanvas.live) is owned by ClassCanvas, so it doesn't meet this document requirement. If you're planning to set up a remote academy, please use the custom domain service.
Billed monthly, separately from the setup fee
The items below are billed monthly based on usage and apply to both subdomain and custom domain.
Live class solution
Billing is based on the number of IDs, for teachers and students alike. Pricing is tiered: the more IDs you have, the lower the unit price for each additional ID. There is no minimum number of IDs.

- There is no minimum. If you use just 1 ID, you're billed for 1 ID only.
- Prepay 3 months for 5% off, 6 months for 10% off or 12 months for 15% off.

How is the monthly fee calculated?
It's based on the number of IDs in use, with no distinction between teachers and students. Pricing is tiered: it starts at 7,500 KRW per ID per month, and the unit price for additional IDs goes down as the number of IDs grows. Prices exclude VAT, and there is no minimum number of IDs. KakaoTalk messages and video lessons are billed separately, only for what you use in that period.

Turn on only the services you need and manage costs easily
Video lectures and KakaoTalk messages each have their own on/off toggle in the academy admin screen. When turned off, new video uploads and message sending stop, so you can choose only the services your academy needs and manage costs easily.
Pause the live class solution
When you're not using the service, you can ask customer support to pause it (you aren't billed while paused).
Turn video lectures on/off
Turn it on only when you use the recorded lecture service. Videos already uploaded still incur storage costs while it's off.
Turn KakaoTalk messages on/off
Choose which attendance, assignment and test alerts to use based on how your academy runs.
You can change toggle settings in the academy admin screen at any time. Changes take effect immediately and apply from the next billing cycle.
